Outstanding New Classroom Teachers are Joe Boshears (Hunter Middle) and Emeri Gordon (Bess T. Shepherd Elementary).
Distinguished Classroom Teachers are Peggy Shelton (Falling Water Elementary) and Kelly Scheunemann (Ooltewah Middle).
Distinguished Administrators are Susan Kennedy (Principal, Wallace A. Smith Elementary) and Linda Darden (Principal, Dalewood Middle School).
The Outstanding Educational Support Professional (ESP) is Senta Dixon (Dalewood Middle School).
HCEA Friends of Education Awards were presented to Jeanette Roessler nominated by Alpine Crest Elementary and Falling Water Reading Buddies nominated by Falling Water Elementary.
Four Hamilton County seniors were awarded HCEA Future Teacher Scholarships. Chelsey Strutton (CSAS) received $1000. Megan Bailey (Red Bank High) received $500. Quentrenisha Byrd (Lookout Valley High) and Kristin Rowan (Soddy Daisy High) received $250.
The Association Representative of the Year was Brent Page (McBrien Elementary).
The HCEA Board of Director Awards were given to Annie Darden (Wolftever Elementary), Annabell Harr (Ooltewah Elementary), Bill Heard (Howard High), Steven Hinkle (Big Ridge Elementary), Jenny Lowe (Normal Park Museum Magnet), and Jo Ann Williams (Brainerd High School).
The President’s Award was given to Cindy Atterton (Office Manager) and Rhonda Catanzaro (TEA Uniserv).
